We spent a 3 day weekend in Canaan Valley WV, with Jamie’s Mother, Sister and future Brother in-law. On the trip there we stopped to explore the Dolly Sods.

Dolly Sods is a high elevation rocky wetland plateau with gorgeous mountain views, and interesting and unusual vegetation. Truly unlike anywhere I’ve been before. The two photos above were taken along the Beaver Creek Damn Trail. I believe the plants with the red foliage in the pictures are huckleberries.

We stopped at a few different spots to take short hikes and explore.

These two were taken along the road to the Bell Knob Lookout Tower. We never made it to the tower, since we had no idea where the road lead and turned around before we got there.

Along the way there were lots of rocks for the boys to climb on,

brightly colored leaves to collect,

beautiful vistas,

and of course on top of a mountain some wind.
